Reserve a Kayak or Canoe for Your Next Adventure!

Explore Minnesota's lakes and waterways with a kayak or canoe rental from Lake State Mountaineering. Complete the reservation form to request your preferred rental date, and our team will follow up to confirm availability and rental details.

To ensure a smooth check-in experience, please fill out the required agreement form and upload it with your reservation booking request. All renters must have a signed agreement on file prior to their rental.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Paddlesports Rentals

The LSM Paddlesports Rental Program provides access to high-quality kayaks (and Canoes soon) for individuals, families, and groups. This service encourages outdoor recreation, fitness, and stewardship of our local Minnesota waterways.

  • Daily Rate: $50.00/day
    Weekend Rate: $100.00/weekend

  • *Rentals include kayak/canoe, PFD, and paddle.

    • Phone/Online Reservations recommended (via website form or call us directly at 612-699-1515).

    • Walk-ups available on a first-come, first-served basis.

    • Group reservations (4+) must be booked 48 hours in advance.

    • Payment due at time of booking.

    • Ages: 18+ to rent. Minors (13-17) may paddle with adult supervision.

    • Waivers: All participants must sign a liability waiver. CC# taken as deposit for any damages done to watercraft or any repairs that are outside of normal wear and tear.

    • ID: Valid government-issued ID required.

    • PFDs must be worn at all times on the water (no exceptions).

    • Mandatory safety briefing required before rental departure.

    • Weather check every morning and updated hourly.

    • Rentals will be suspended during:

      • Thunderstorms/lightning

      • High winds (over 15 mph)

      • High water conditions

    • Contact number provided.

    • Late Returns: $10.00 per every 15 minutes late.

    • Damage Deposit: $50.00 per vessel (refundable)

    • Lost Gear Fee: At replacement cost.

    • Cancellations: Full refund if cancelled 24+ hours in advance.

    • Daily inspections of all boats and gear.

    • Monthly deep clean & repair schedule.

    • Retire damaged/loss-prone equipment after 3 seasons.
